Hysteria

Inspired by the book «Invention of Hysteria» by Georges Didi-Huberman.

«Hysteria, also called «disease of the uterus», has long been diagnosed as a neurosis in women whose behavior did not correspond to what patriarchal society expected of them. »

The body of these women became tools of experimentation and research, I reappropriated the portraits of Augustine in the way that Charcot obsessively exhausted experimentation on his body by putting forward only his face in order to give importance to his identity. I inflicted experimentation and deterioration on these images in a manual to digital evolution until exhaustion  of the subject.
